This year, Italian broadcaster RAI stuck to the tradition as Nina Zilli was selected through the biggest musical event of this country, the Sanremo Festival. Nina was not the winner of San Remo but the jury decided to send her to Baku anyway.
The participating song was announced as the ballad she performed in the festival, Per Sempre but RAI had their eyes on another song from the album, which is also the name of Nina’s latest album, L'amore é Femmina. The song was later re-arranged for use in the Eurovision Song Contest and Nina Zilli went bilingual with Out of Love. The official preview video was released before but another video clip related to the Italian version has been released exclusively on Italian video portal, gazetta.it.
