New follow up single from Musiqq

Duo Musiqq brought with them their own brand of blue eyed soul interspersed with rap for Latvia at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Although failing to qualify for the final they’re not ones to give up and have just released their follow up single.

The single is called Miljonārs (Millionaire) and has just been released in their native Latvia. The single has been released on the Microphone Records label. Marats Ogļezņevs is behind both music and lyrics to the song and explained to latvian website Delfi just what the meaning was behind the song: "Our aim with this song was to make everyone listening to it fell like they are a millionaire. No matter whether you’re rich or poor, all shortcomings in your personal life are compensated for by the things that make you happy. Even we, Musiqq, are millionaires, because as we sing in our song "If wealth is measured in happiness, then I’m a millionaire". The song makes for pleasant listening and we want to thank our fans for their support and trust", they tell the site.

As the title suggests, their newest single is in fact in latvian instead of english, perhaps indicating that they are for the time being concentrating on widening their fan base at home before setting their sights on a larger european release. To date, the duo have only one album under their belt, their debut from 2010 entitled Šī Ir Tikai Mūzika (This Is Just Music). The new single is quite similar in style to Angel in Disguise. You can listen to Miljonārs below to compare the two.

The duo comprising Marats Ogļezņevs and Emīls Balceris. Together they performed Angel in Disguise in the second semi final, amassing a total of 25 points and coming third from bottom in their semi final, the only Baltic country not to make the final this year.
