We have come to an end in long selection process of Azeri Milli Seçim Turu’s 2012 edition with the final show, that will be held on sunday evening. Five finalist will compete for the honour of representing their country on home field. Let’s take a closer look as to how they came this far.

The final show will be in gala concert concept where our five finalists will sing several songs from different genres. The winner will be revealed at the end of the night, but the actual song will be announced on a later date. Lets take a look at the five finalits:

Elton Ibrahimov, participated in the fifth heat of the first selection process. His biggest opponent was Günay Ahmedova who was slightly higher in the scoreboard before the last show began. However, Elton managed to pass him with the last day performance and qualified to the semifinal. In the semifinal, Elton got 1555 votes, which means the best third performance, after the performances in the five days, and qualified to the final step in Milli Seçim Turu.

Elton says "I am waiting for the final show impatiently and I am taking this show so serious. I believe I didn’t show my best during the semifinal week, so i am working hard on vocals to show my best in the final".

Arzu İsmailova, participated in the eight – the last heat of the first selection process in the Milli Seçim Turu where she easily qualified to the semi-final section. In the semi-final, Arzu secured the second place with 1886 votes after the performances in the five days and qualified to the last stage in Milli Seçim Turu 2012.

We can understand from her words that Arzu’s motivation for the final show is quite high: "I think the vocals should be in the foreground so I am thinking about the my performance in the song that I will sing in the gala concert. I hope I will give my best to get the right to represent Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest’s final night".

In the Azeri media, Orhan Kerimli is considered the winner of Milli Seçim Turu’s 2012 edition, especially after his tremendous performances in the previous shows. Orhan easily won the first heat of first selection process and his succesfull run continued in the semi-final heat where he lead the scoreboard from first day to last day. He won the semifinal having 2259 votes in total.

Orhan tells the cameras, "First of all I am glad to pass the previous shows. I think I didn’t show the best of me in the semi-final and therefore me and my team are stresfully waiting for the final. I am taking vocal courses all day long, studying so hard to take the honour of representing Azerbaijan at the contest. So I will give my best to be deserving of this place".

Feqan Seferov qualified to the semifinals after winning the forth heat of first selection process in Milli Seçim Turu. Differently from previous heats, Feqan competed with eight participants instead of nine names, with the withdrawl of Rana İmamaliyeva. Feqan succeded to record a slight win over Nadejda Mikayılova in this heat, and he also qualified to the finals at the last place with having 818 votes in total.

Feqan says from his studio "Hello all, I am impatiently waiting for the gala too and I am working so seriously for the show. I promise I will extinguish the hopes of other participants there. I am working on several entries but I will also bring you a great visiual show. Stay tuned for the final!"

Sabina Babayeva is the fifth of the participants in the final of Milli Seçim Turu 2012. Sabina was nomineed for the bottom place in the seventh heat of the first selection process. Before the last day began in the seventh heat, Sabina was lying in the 7th place with only 170 votes, and the leader Ayla İdrisova had 3247 votes. Sabina magically overcame this huge difference of votes just in one performance and succeded to qualify to the semifinal. In the semi-final, she managed to qualify to the final with 1098 votes, with 4th placing.

This magic girl says, "Now I brave myself after qualifiying from those shows and I know I have a chance in the final too. I have decided to sing the songs that I enjoy in the final. I am preparing for the show with hard work. In fact i used to sing in Jazz clubs/bars, therefore they are my favourite genres but when it comes to the Eurovision Song Contest, I think pop has more popularity there. I know I qualified with 4th placing to the final but any of us would love to have the honour of representing Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest".

Azerbaijan won the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest they will be on homefield this year and is also automatically qualified for the final of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest.
