Michael von der Heide announces concert dates

Things have been fairly quiet around former Swiss Eurovision particpant Michael von der Heide. After a creative hiatus of a year or so, he has just announced dates for a string of concerts this winter, for the mini tour given the rather apt name Winterreise (Winter Journey).

Swiss artist Michael von der Heide has always done things his own way. The versatile artist masters as many musical genres as he does languages as his 2010 Eurovision entry Il Pleut de l’Or and his last album, the 2011 release Lido bear testimony to. Besides music, Von der Heide also has a parallel career in the theatre, the latest installment of which he is currently preparing for, with performances scheduled for the Festival d’Automne à Paris, where he will be performing in the piece Letzte Tage. Ein Vorabend (Final Days. An Evening) in September/October.

But fans of Michael von der Heide’s music need not fret – he will be touring Switzerland following the completion of his Paris dates. On his newest tour Winterreise, he hopes to treat fans to an evocative show, and to do that he will interpret numbers by such well known artists as Tom Waits and UK 2013 Eurovision entrant Bonnie Tyler, even including a bit of Bach for good  measure! He promises a varied repertoire, with songs sung in French, German and English dealing with subjects as varied as awakening, freedom, sex, God love and life, to mention but a few. He will be accompanied on tour by his longtime guitarist Martin Buess. The Winterreise tour will consist of 14 dates, opening on the 22nd of November in Gersau and coming to a close on the 12th of January in Schöftland.
