After yesterday’s semifinal, Serbia has now decided the song to hopefully win them the Eurovision Song Contest for the second time. They will be represented by Marko Kon & Milan Nikoli with the song Cipela.
Ten songs survived the semifinal, they were;
Oscar & Beauty Queens feat. Dorde Marjanovic – Superstar
Danijel i Milica – H8ER
Sonja Bakic – Ništa Novo
Saška Jankovic – Nauci Me
Dušan Zrnic – Tvoje Drugo Ime Je Greh
Marko Kon i Milan Nikolic – Cipela
OT Bend – Blagoslov Za Kraj
Andrej Ilic – Nemam Te
Etar – Sanjaj Me
Pozitivan Haos – Gloria
Due to technical problems with the phone vote, RTS reinstated Ivana Selakov and Ana Nikolic to the competition. Ana Nikolić declined to participate so the Serbian public had 11 songs to choose from. Ivana Selakov was allocated the last slot in the running order for her song, Moje Odbrane.
Naturally, the songs were presented in much the same way as in last night’s semifinal. While the phone lines were open, there was top quality entertainment in the form of Jelena Tomasevic, who sang five songs. Three were new songs, but she also performed Jutro, her song from the 2005 Beovizija, and Oro, with which she represented Serbia when they hosted the contest last year. After this, she was joined on stage by Sirusho, who represented Armenia in Belgrade last year. She sang a re-mix of her entry, Qele, Qele. Completing the 2008 reunion was Israels Boaz Mauda.
The results were decided by a mixture of phone and jury votes. The combined result was as follows;
1st – Marko Kon & Milan Nikolic – Cipela – 19 Points
2nd – OT Bend – Blagoslov Za Kraj – 17 Points
3rd – Etar – Sanjaj Me – 15 Points
4th – Oscar & Beauty Queens feat. Dorde Marjanovic – Superstar – 12 Points
5th – Ivana Selakov – Moje Odbrane – 11 Points
6th – Dušan Zrnic – Tvoje Drugo Ime Je Greh – 10 Points
7th – Danijel i Milica – H8ER – 7 Points
8th – Saška Jankovic – Nauci Me – 6 Points
9th – Andrej Ilic – Nemam Te – 6 Points
10th – Pozitivan Haos – Gloria – 4 Points
11th – Sonja Bakic – Ništa Novo – 1 Point
Marko and Milan will therefore travel to Moscow, where their first task will be to qualify from the second semi final on 14th May.
