The Azeri host broadcaster İçtimai Tv will start looking for its 2012 Eurovision Song Contest participant in a couple of days. The window to submit an entry will only be open for ten days. The winner of their national selection will, as usual with a host country, be guaranteed a place in the final in May.
İçtimai TV has released a statement and application form releated to the Azeri national final, Milli Seçim Turu. According to the broadcaster everyone with a good voice, dancing skills and a stage performer gen can apply to İçtimai Teleradio between 15th – 25th October 2011. It is mentioned in the rules that "the comptetition will be conducted in full accordance with the Eurovision Song Contest rules and requirements , ensuring tansparency amd objectivitiy and the opinion of both the public and a special jury will be taken into account in order to select the Azerbaijani representative."
Anyone interested in participating at the Milli Seçim Turu 2012 should fill out an application form released by the broadcaster attaching 3 profile photos and a copy of the national identity card.
İçtimai TV has also released a number where coming participants can get more information about the procedure. The number is: (+994) 430 23 04 (and dial 238 when operator begins).
The winner gets to represent Azerbaijan at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest on homefield in capital Baku as Eldar & Nigar won this year’s edition in Germany with the song Running Scared.
