Former Croatian Eurovision representatives involved in a new musical project

Goran Karan, Severina and Danijela are part of the cast at the musical Naša Bila Storija which will be premiered in spring 2014 in Split, Croatia. It is about a romantic story of forbidden love between a choir singer and a young football player in the early seventies.

There are quite a few artists involved in this musical who are well known for their participation at the Eurovision Song Contest. Among them there are three former Croatian representatives such as Goran Karan (2000), Severina (2006) or Danijela Martinović (1998). Furthermore, one of the authors of the project alongside Goran Karan is Nenad Ninčević who wrote the lyrics of Kad Zaspu Anđeli, the song that he performed at the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest. The arranger of that song as well as some other Croatian Eurovision entries, Nikša Bratoš, is also involved in this project recording guitars, mandolins and other string instruments. The cast is completed by other Croatian singers like Giuliano, Tedi Spalato, Stefan Kokoškov, Arijana Čulina and Snježana Šiškov.

The story takes place in the early seventies in the Croatian city of Split. When Ana (Severina) and Duje (Goran Karan) fall in love, their respective parents do not approve of their relationship but they love each other so much that, with so many obstacles to live their love story, she even tries to kill herself by drowning in the Mediterranean Sea.

The show will consist of sixteen original songs written in Croatian and it will be divided in two acts. The cast is now immersed in the recording sessions and the premiere of the musical is scheduled for the spring of 2014 in Split. It will be followed by a tour around the country.
