Belarus to Select Eurovision 2013 Entry on 7th of December

BTRC has revealed the deadline for song submissions and announced that their song for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest will be selected on 7th of December. Will they be able to qualify to the finals after two years of failure in a row?

Belarussian national TV station, BTRC (Belteleradio Company) announced that the national final will be held on 7th of December.

All the artists who are interested are welcome to submit their songs until 22th of October. Applications received by this day will be evaluated and a maximum number of 15 semi-finalists will be selected by the jury members after preliminary auditions on 31st of October. After a series of semi-finals in November, Belarussian viewers will make their mind up to choose the best 5 entries. Finally, on 7th of December, the top 5 acts will compete for the ticket to Malmö.

With such an early national selection process, Belarus is likely to be the first country to have selected its 2013 Eurovision Song Contest song.

Belarus made its Eurovision debut in 2004 in Istanbul, and 2013 marks their 10th anniversary in the contest. Their best result was 6th place in 2007, which was achieved by Dmitry Koldun in Helsinki.
