Azerbaijan continues non-stop its national selection, Milli Seçim Turu, with the semi-final shows. Orhan Kerimli, Meryem Kerimova, Hayyam Mustafazadeh, Feqan Seferov, Elton İbrahimov, Adil Bakışlı, Sabina Babayeva and Arzu İsmailova will perform to qualify to the final where only five names will be proceed.
This year Azerbaijan’s national broadcaster, İçtimai TV went for another long term selection. After the audition process, 72 names were divided to eight heats, including five shows in each heat. Then only one name qualified to the semi-final each week. The names that made it to the semi-final are:
- 1st heat winner: Orhan Kerimli
- 2nd heat winner: Meryem Kerimova
- 3rd heat winner: Hayyam Mustafazadeh
- 4th heat winner: Fegan Sererov
- 5th heat winner: Elton İbrahimov
- 6th heat winner: Adil Bakışlı
- 7th heat winner: Sabina Babayeva
- 8th heat winner: Arzu İsmailova
This week the selections will continue with the semi-final shows, which will start this evening with the first show and will end with the last show on Friday evening. Those semi-final qualifiers will try to put their best skills on the battle of final. It is expected the process will be shaped as in the previous shows:
• Monday: World Hits
• Tuesday: Azeri Music
• Wednesday: Eurovision Hits
• Thursday: Performance Day
• Friday: Participants’ Choice
Aftert the fifth show, the results will be announced from last position to top. The latest results will be collected after each day’s results with the combination of jury and televoting, 50/50. After all these calculations, five names will have the chance of participating in gala concert. The shows will start at 19.00 CET (22.00 with the local time) with the presentation of Leyla Aliyeva and Hüsniye Maharramova. The shows will of course be broadcasted by the national broadcaster via web and satellite.
