Amaury Vassili pays tribute to Mike Brant on his new album

Amaury Vassili is back with his fourth studio album which is a brilliant tribute to Mike Brant, the Israeli singer who achieved fame in France in the 70s. It compiles all greatest hits from Mike Brant including a virtual duet and an unreleased song.

The young tenor who represented France at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 with the song Sognu has left his usual operatic style to bring back a collection of covers that were originally composed by the late Mike Brant. On this album, whose name is Amaury Vassili Chante Mike Brant, Amaury gives the old songs a fresh touch with an accurate and melodic style giving the whole album some vibrancy and diversity.

Amaury Vassili is well known because he has a powerful and extremely flexible voice with a very wide range that delights the ear with an almost angelic quality of sound but, with this album, he shows a different style of singing from what we have heard from him before, out of the lyric genre.

This wonderful collection includes all the great hits from Mike Brant such as Qui Saura (recorded as a virtual duet), Dis-Lui, C’est Comme Ça Que Je T’aime, Rien Qu’une Larme, Mais Dans La Lumière, Laisse-Moi T’aimer, Qui Pourra Te Dire or C’est Ma Prière. The last song of the album, Où Que Tu Sois, is one of the latest songs that Mike Brant composed shortly before his death in 1975. As Mike could not record it, his niece Yona Brant asked Amaury to do so and include it on this beautiful tribute whose track listing is as follows:

1. Qui Saura (duet with Mike Brant)
2. Parce Que Je T’aime Plus Que Moi
3. A Corps Perdu
4. Dis-Lui
5. C’est Comme Ça Que Je T’aime
6. Rien Qu’une Larme
7. Viens Ce Soir
8. Mais Dans La Lumière
9. Mr Schubert I Love You
10. Laisse-Moi T’aimer
11. Qui Pourra Te Dire
12. C’est Ma Prière
13. Où Que Tu Sois
