Eurovision 2015 live: Italy’s second rehearsal

Italy will be performing straight into the grand final this Saturday. The country is represented by Il Volo with the song Grande Amore. Are there any changes since the country’s first rehearsal? Does it look is if they are in with a chance for a good result? We try to answer your questions reporting live from inside the hall of Wiener Stadthalle.

Italy looks good again. There are no major changes since Italy’s first rehearsal. It is difficult to tell whether it will stand out to an extent that will secure it a good result because the running order for the countries that automatically qualify for the final has not been announced yet – we don’t even know whether Italy will be in the first or the second half of the final either. I am trying to think how Italy would look against a country like Russia (whose staging is deemed as one of the best this year) and I think that Italy’s presentation would look considerably simpler but also more clean-cut. The trio is singing well and the impression that Italy leaves to the viewers will also depend on the live audience’s response to their performance as well their song, which is generally considered as one of the strongest in the line up. The Italian presentation could have looked a little more imposing and atmospheric I suppose – I get the sense that it lacks an edge – but, having seen their second rehearsal, I would think that the country is still a contender for one of the top spots of the leaderboard this Saturday.
