A couple of days have now passed since SVT announced Malmö as the host city of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 - a decision that surprised many and left behind questions to why Malmö was chosen over Stockholm and the new Friends Arena. The executive producer of next years contest, Martin Österdahl, clears things up by giving answers to these question.
Today it was announced by the Swedish broadcaster SVT that the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will be held in Malmö. It is the second time after 1992 that Malmö will be staging the Eurovision Song Contest. Just until the end it was a close race between Malmö and Stockholm.
After Loreen's sensational victory with Euphoria speculation has already begun as to just how and where next year's Eurovision final will be held in Sweden. Among many in Baku the newly constructed Friends Arena was almost a foregone conclusion as host venue but other surprising candidates have appeared.
