On Saturday night, Azerbaijan won the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in their 4th competition, with Eldar and Nigar, known as Ell & Nikki, and their song, Running Scared. As the country won the competition, the media in Azerbaijan reacted very positively.
With Stella Mwangi doing a "Kate Ryan" and failing to qualify for the final in this year's Eurovision Song Contest, things were looking rather bleak for state broadcaster NRK who can normally rely on whopping viewing figures for one of the most popular programmes in Norway.

Azerbaijan won the 56th Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf. After an exciting voting the duo Ell/Nikki won with a total of 221 points leaving Italy and Sweden behind them.

The final dress rehearsal of the second semi final started at 15.00 o'clock. It was the last chance for the participants to get everything well prepared for the live show tonight. Just like during the 3rd dress rehearsal of the first semi final, most of the artists wore casual clothes instead of the ones which they will wear during the live show.
The 19 participants in the second semi-final has just been on stage for the second time today. This was the so-called jury final, which is the one the juries base their votes on. The technical problems from the first one had been solved and only one rehearsal is now left until it really counts tomorrow evening.
