Today Dutch broadcaster, TROS, announced the 6 participants that will be competing for the honour of representing the Netherlands at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. 

Edsilia Rombley is back with a brand new single as earlier reported here on Eurovisionary, a thumping, uplifting duet with another great Dutch voice, namely that of Ruth Jacott. The single Uit het Oog, Niet Uit Mijn Hart (Out of Sight, Not Out of Mind) is lifted from her brand spanking new album, Uit Mijn Hart (From My Heart).

Soul sisters Edsilia Rombley and Ruth Jacott have given the Netherlands two of their highest placings within the last twenty years at Eurovision. The time was finally right for both artists to combine creative forces and give their Dutch fans a treat.

Rachel Traets has won the ticket to represent the Netherlands at the 2011 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Yerevan, Armenia on 3 December.  Rachel came first out of 5 acts in the national final with the song, Ik Ben Een Teenager (I am a Teenager).

The Netherlands leading soul diva Glennis Grace has just recently confirmed through her own website that she is to give her first official solo concert.

Dutch female singer Elz Bakker has released a cover version of Invincible, which Carola sang to a fifth place at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest. It is a song that has been covered several times before and in this new Dutch version Elz made it to the charts.

Popular Dutch group 3JS were the sole performers in this year's Dutch final, performing 5 numbers of which Je Vecht Nooit Alleen was chosen as the runaway winner by both the jury panel and televotes cast. Now they have released their third single from the national final.

Ruth Jacott, the Dutch entrant who sang Vrede to a 6th place for the Netherlands in 1993 is to feature as the special guest at an upcoming event in Amsterdam. The event is called DreamsLive Dinner Show and will take place on the 24th of September.

Friday evening John de Mol was guest in a Dutch talkshow where he told more about his plans for next year's Nationaal Songfestival. A world famous illusionist is likely to be involved - and the promise of the most professionel Dutch final in years is present.
