My 25 years as a Eurovision fan

Today, the 18th of February, I celebrate my 25th year anniversary as a Eurovision Song Contest fan. It was in relation to the 1984 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix I first time defined myself as a fan. Many things have happened over the years, but I am proud to say that I am still a dedicated fan after so many years.

All bets are off!

As well as a lot of other Swedish fans, I am counting down the hours until Saturdays live show. After having seen the performances on stage during yesterdays rehearsals, I’m really excited...and really torn regarding who will go through to the final.

Can three overweight middle aged men be good for my health?

I was asked how I can enjoy three middle age overweight men dressed in colourful suits singing a song that won't go down in history as something to remember, but that is what I like about De Toppers. It is fun and not too serious! I am ready for two weeks of fun with these guys in Moscow - and me and three guys might even me good for my health!

That’ll Do Me

The UK selection process is over. The British public have made their choice and for once, they haven’t made a mess of it. They nearly did but I’m prepared to overlook that because in the end, what matters is the final result

What might happen on Saturday in Finnish national final?

Twelve artists are still in the Finnish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, but what will happen? There have been already some surprises, but will there be any more? Who are favourites? Who might win? Let's speculate!

The songs so far...

Although we still have fourteen weeks to go, thirteen entries have been announced so far. I can't believe how quickly they were announced, but it seems an exciting contest is coming.

Ok, I admit that I was a chicken

For the first time ever I didn’t know which song to vote for in the Danish final. It was impossible to choose between Someday and Believe Again and seconds before the line closed I acted like a chicken. I simply didn’t want to risk having that only vote that would decide who was going to Moscow. But why is it always song number 10 that wins?

Embarrassing for the Danish broadcaster?

DR’s otherwise strong security couldn’t stop the ten songs from being leaked this year. It is quite embarrassing for the broadcaster who makes a big deal out of the songs not being published before. While DR figures out how to react to this the rest of us can judge if the songs live up to the higher quality we were promised.
